what made them build the 747 in the first place they lost out on a contract to build a bomber for you american air force so they to took a big gamble on building the 747 and it worked you yanks just hate been upstaged with something better like concord you lot tryed it but failed it was only the price of fuel that stopped it from selling by the way did you check it out were 30% of your 747 is made some of it in europe the bits you lot cant build

I think Airbus have just pushed the envelope a little too far with this plane(it is an amazing achievement all the same). Did it need to be soo big, a gamble when using new materials(wings had probs in testing),5% smaller and it would have still taken the 747. Also if there is any inherent structural material weakness down the line then Airbus is truly fucked!
