Description: General Motors is marking its 100th anniversary by launching an online forum, GMnext.com, to discuss future transportation issues. GM officials say the initiative, "GMnext," aims to connect consumers with GM officials and answer questions regarding next-generation designs, how to make personal transportation more sustainable and the auto industry's role in developing markets. |

Guerakeen ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 22:01:23 His point is actually well taken by me. Toyota and Datsun most definitely dumped their products on our market for decades to capture share before they turned any profits. They did this with government subsidization and the cooperation of an American public eager for a cheap product. __________________________________________________
crezzyman ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 21:58:21 Why appeal to the youth? The youth sucks! Trust me, I know, I am one. My peers are quite stupid. All you have to do to make them buy a car is name it after a rapper, or have it endorsed by one. Or, make a commercial with a rapper in it for the car. The current generation is stupid like that.... __________________________________________________
crezzyman ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 21:54:34 Yeah, they'll probably sell out to Toyota within the month for a pound of weed. That or they'd demand that all cars got 80 MPG, and that they all only cost $15,000. In other words, they'd run GM out of business. __________________________________________________
crezzyman ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 21:52:52 Do you design cars? Do you even work on cars? Designing an engine is pretty damn tough. Taking one apart and putting it back together so it runs is tough too. Seeing as how things are much harder to work on on imports, I think GM has excellent engineers, and design their cars very well. __________________________________________________
crezzyman ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 21:50:01 You think the age should be highered? Do you mean raised? Are you sure you're 18 and not 13? Then again, if you spell like that when you're 18, you're probably right, and you're probably not responsible enough to drive yet. __________________________________________________
crezzyman ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 21:48:48 Good acceleration can still be had with a mechanically limited top speed. Get high gear ratios, few gears, and design the engine with no electronic rev limiter, just limit it mechanically to a certain RPM. It can be done easily, integrated into the design. That way the car would be limited to a lower top speed, but still be able to accelerate exceptionally well. __________________________________________________
crezzyman ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 21:45:34 What is so much better about an OHC engine? It has more moving parts, so it can fail easier. It's more complicated, so it costs more to fix. And what makes it better than a pushrod engine? Is it more efficient? No. Does it make more power? No, because it takes more energy from the crank to turn 4 camshafts than it does one. So what is the benefit of OHC's? __________________________________________________

BT57L ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 21:32:31 Dont know where you live but a modified car lest one from the factory, probably shouldnt be driving around on your streets anyway. You have to educate and change peoples attitudes towards driving cars. Cars dont go 200 mph on their own.You need to start by banning low performance drivers before you ban high performance cars. __________________________________________________
