I'm from San Anselmo, and from 1969 to 1971 I took every chance I could to go and see those guys - at The Family Dog, The Fillmore ... anywhere. The energy was incredible, they always had the rhythm. It was the best street music in the world. Listen to "Incident" or "Waiting" or "Toussaint" or "Guajira" or ... and it still sounds good, it will never be out of date.

They were not musicians. They were chamans in trance. An so the audience. The tremendous energy around Woodstock touched everybody. It´s the only way to understand the power of this perfomance. Same thing related to Joe Cocker, Alvin Lee, The Who, Richie Havens, CSN&Y and Country Joe. Thanks for the video.

This was the shit back in the day and still is..Being from the City, about a mile from where these guys were from, everyone wanted to be like them..David Brown went to my high school with my older brother, and again just the best!!!! Many people think that everyone who grew up in the City were into hippies in the 60's and the white bands coming out of the Haight, but for us who were from the Excelsior and Mission, these cats were kings..
