Description: The car knocked the scaffolding back like 5 feet. The competitive field at Sonoma saw many drivers pushing their machines into the wall after the initial clipping point in an effort to leave nothing on the table during their qualifying runs. Not only did the wall claim 2005 Sonoma winner Calvin Wan, but Top drivers Tyler McQuarrie, Mitsuru Haruguchi, Taka Aono, Hiro Sumida and Bill Sherman all found themselves in similar situations. Fortunately nobody was seriously injured. The US drifting community is close nit, and when a driver finds himself in a situation like this, he can count on his team of mechanics, sponsors, and friends to help him get his car back into competition shape. The community is what makes drifting such an appealing and rewarding sport to be part of. If you have never been to a drifting event, you need to make it out to the track to see this amazing motorsport first hand. |

hotrodhomepage ::: Favorites Enjoy your EPSN2 coverage of this event. "Seven 1-hour shows will be filmed with multiple repeats beginning in November 2007." So you can expect to see Sonoma on Television around mid-late December. 07-08-13 15:33:22 _____________________________________________________

110octane ::: Favorites The people who could have been hurt put themselves in that situation. If you were even at the event you would know that anyone stupid enough to be on that poorly placed stand put their own body in front of cars that are coming straight at them and thats their bad. Besides, the camera stand was for the ESPN2 TV crew not lame ass video poachers like hotrodhomepage. 07-08-13 14:37:10 _____________________________________________________
pornstarSR ::: Favorites no one is capitalizing on anyones mistakes, its real life. these things happen, it could have been anyone on of the attendees at this event posting a video of the same crash. is it bad for the car, yeah, for the driver, hopefully not.... move on.... learn from it.... no one is cheering it, no one is saying "YEAH HAHA LOOK WHAT HAPPENED" its just a clip of a post we all know carries risk.... and if ambulances start drifting, ill chase them ANYDAY 07-08-13 01:41:48 _____________________________________________________
DavidPadron ::: Favorites How can you call anyone sick and twisted when you clearly are more concerned for the image of the driver/team than the safety of the people who could have been hurt by that accident? 07-08-13 00:39:59 _____________________________________________________ |
