One other thing...Not all religion is geared toward ethics. Some are oriented toward practical meditation techniques, prayer, ecstacy, etc. Furthermore, many religious people do not take their literatures literally. Has absolutely no scientific backing, rather it's a political tool used to claim proper ethics - "Oh, he's a spiritual person, must be very moral." I don't wish to talk you out of being a Christian, but I hope you will see that it is possible to live as spiritual, ethical and meaningful a life without religion.
